hello people...
we have been developing apps on facebook for quite sometime now and we built the most popular RSS reader apps on facebook - Social RSS...
yesterday someone asked me what I think of the new apple's ipad...i thought it was quite cool to begin with. i was told its main function is to enable users to browse, browse and browse...the bombshell drops when i was told it does NOT support adobe flash...
i am not sure what to make of it...there are so many web sites out there running flash content...it will be all well if you have millions of developers developing apps for the platform. but if it comes to browsing existing web content, i am just not sure if it is the right way to go...
let me know what you think...

ps...
comments i read tend to lean towards the fact that its a good-looking gadget, great on the coffee table...not sure what gap (if any) it is filling in the marketplace...

PLEASE READ ME IF YOU WANT TO CONTINUE TO RECEIVE NEWSFEEDS ON YOUR WALLS (This applies to BOTH fan pages and profiles)
Hello everyone,
The following affects all users of Social RSS app.
Facebook has made a number of changes since end of Nov 2010. The changes are as follows:
(a) The ways that newsfeeds are sent to your walls
From end of Nov 2009, Facebook uses a new in-house algorithm to determine if a newsfeed is worthwhile to be sent to the home pages of the fans. Prior to this date, ALL newsfeeds are sent to the home pages of fans.
We understand that, once a newsfeed is sent to the wall, the more fans "comment on" and "like" the newsfeeds, the more likely the algorithm will select the newsfeed to be sent to the home pages of fans.
You are therefore strong advised to encourage your fans to "comment on" and "like" the newsfeeds, once they are posted on your wall.
(b) Facebook has stopped the old style of newsfeeds
Facebook has stopped the old style of newsfeeds to be sent from january 5, 2010. As such, Social RSS can only send newsfeeds in the new format from the date.
In order to enable us to continue to send you newsfeeds, you MUST grant Social RSS app the new permissions required.
You can grant us the new permissions by accessing your "Edit Settings" page.
For pages, goto "Edit Page" in your page, select Social RSS, then "Edit".
For profiles, goto "Applications", then "Application Settings", then Social RSS.
Please note that if you don't grant us the new permissions, you will NOT be able to receive any more newsfeeds, as the old functions have been taken out by Facebook!!!
(c) More changes on its way!!!
Last but not the least, there will be more Facebook changes on its way.
We understand that the width of the app tab will be reduced.
Also, the Profile Boxes and the "Boxes" tab will be removed by Facebook later this month.
This makes, part from the "RSS/Blog" tab, newsfeeds will be the only way for you and your users to interact with the app.
We therefore strongly advise you to add the "RSS/Blog" tab (if you haven't done so already) and to interact with the newsfeeds on the wall (so that it improves its chances of being posted to the home pages of your fans).
More details to follow.
Hope this helps.
